Abby Sciuto is the gothic forensic at NCIS and she's like a daughter to Gibbs. Unlike
the rest of the team, who gets slaps on the back of the head, she gets a kiss on the cheek. shown in "bloodbath" when Gibbs
asks why Abby did not go to him, about her stalker boyfriend and she answers that she wanted him restrained, but not
beaten to a pulp with a baseball bat. She's sort of a geek when it comes to technology. One of the reasons she loved her work
in the basement lab is that little sunlight makes it in. (she does not like sunlight) Her lab is more of her home than her
apartment is, and her equipment are her babies. She even names them. Whenever she gets new equipment, she has a tradition
of taking a photo of herself next to it, as seen in "Brothers In Arms." She even talks to her equipment like Ducky talks to
bodies.
Abby loves her Caff-pow drinks high caffeine fruit drinks. At the end of season 4, she decides she is going
to quit caffeine, but that ends by season 5 episode 2 "Family."
In 'Split Decision' (Season One: episode 20) Abby makes
fake ID's for DiNozzo and Gibbs' undercover ops, and then reveals that she's been making fake ID's since she was 15 years
of age. You also find out in Kill Ari Pt. II that she has been driving stick shift autos since she was 10 "With Bubba riding
shotgun." (according to her, Bubba was "The best damn coon dog in Jefferson Parish") She's an expert with computers and...
well, fraud.
Abby and Gibbs can also communicate by signing. Abby learned because her mother was deaf. This signing
is much to the dismay and irritation of the rest of the team members, especially DiNozzo.
